One of the fascinating things about egg tempera painting is the unchanging beauty of colour.
I prepare true gesso and apply it on the board with many layers and then polish it. I also make my own paint using fee-range eggs. When I look at an egg, I remember my teacher's words:
"Happy Chicken, Happy Eggs !"
My teacher raised free and happy chickens, and she used the eggs for her paintings.
Egg tempera painters use a lot of egg yolks so we have fun talking about how to cook white eggs.
Looking at this painting I made about 10 years ago, my teacher was in my mind. I felt nostalgic.
